Overseeding is the process of spreading new grass seeds over an existing lawn to improve its density, repair damaged or worn areas, and maintain a healthy and uniform appearance.

It is recommended to perform this during favorable germination periods, such as spring or fall, depending on the type of grass. Before overseeding, it is ideal to prepare the soil with a low mow, aeration, and light topdressing to improve seed-to-soil contact. Proper watering and the use of fertilizers will help with better germination and establishment of the new grass.
